REGISTRATION NUMBER: MED0001044809
Dr Amy Jeeves holds an MBBS (2000) and a BMedSci (Hons) (1999) from the University of Adelaide. She obtained her fellowship in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2011. Her training at hospitals throughout South Australia included a year as the Statewide Burns Fellow.
Amy is a Senior Visiting Medical Specialist at the Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH) and the Women’s and Children’s Hospital (WCH). She is the senior Specialist Plastic Surgeon in the Melanoma Clinic at the RAH and is part of the team that manages acute trauma, microsurgery, burns and cancer reconstruction at the largest hospital in South Australia.
At the WCH, Dr Jeeves has appointments in both Paediatric Plastic Surgery and Burns’ Units. She has clinical and research interests in acute and reconstructive burns surgery, laser therapy for scars and is a member of the Emergency Management of Severe Burns course faculty.
As the South Australian Chair of Plastic Surgery Training, Amy is actively involved in teaching and mentoring registrars, junior doctors and medical students. This provides a challenging case mix and the benefits of being part of a dynamic rural community.
At her private rooms on North Terrace at Adelaide Plastic Surgery, Amy welcomes patients with a wide variety of concerns and particularly enjoys her consultations with women and children. She takes the time to support and guide her patients through the process of choosing options that best suit their situations.
Dr Jeeves has a particular interest in aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery. She counsels many women who have concerns about large, small or asymmetric breasts and revision breast surgery – also those seeking help in regaining abdominal contour and muscle strength after weight loss or pregnancy.
She also cares for patients with acute trauma, particularly of the hand and face.
At Adelaide Plastic Surgery, Amy partners in a breast cancer reconstruction clinic with A/Prof Beverley Fosh, a General and Breast Surgeon. They see patients for oncoloplastic breast conservation surgery, lipofilling, immediate and delayed reconstruction for breast cancer and combined hernia/abdominoplasty surgery. For women with a high genetic risk of breast cancer, they also perform joint risk reduction mastectomy and immediate breast reconstruction.
Dr Jeeves is an active member of the Australian and American Societies of Plastic Surgery, the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and the Australian and New Zealand Burns Association.
