Unlike traditional facials laser therapy is designed to target areas below the skins surface. In doing so, our laser rejuvenation treatments are able to treat a variety of skin concerns, as well as being an investment for your future skin health.
Each treatment helps to restore your skins youthful glow and refine its overall texture and appearance.

How do the Rejuvenation treatments work?
At Adelaide Plastic Surgery, we have a choice of two lasers that are used in our rejuvenation treatments, Laser Enlighten and Laser Genesis. One of our experienced laser nurses will determine which laser is best suited to your individual skin concerns, or may even use a combination of the two. These laser treatments are designed to improve overall skin tone and texture, and promote more vibrant, healthy-looking skin.
Enlighten Rejuvenation
Enlighten Laser rejuvenation is designed to create brighter, lighter, even looking skin. Melanin is what gives our skin colour, but when it occurs in high concentrations it can result in uneven skin tone. As your skin is treated with Enlighten, the laser light is absorbed by the excess melanin causing the pigment to break apart into tiny particles. These particles are then small enough to be absorbed by the body’s natural waste eliminators. As a result, the appearance of freckles, age spots and sun damage is minimised, leaving you with bright, even looking skin. Laser Enlighten will also helps to reduce pore size and the appearance of fine lines.
Genesis Rejuvenation
Laser Genesis rejuvenation works by gently heating the upper dermis below your skins surface, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin, which helps to promote skin radiance and a youthful glow. Over a course of treatments, Laser Genesis will help to smooth the texture and appearance of your skin, by reducing pore size and minimising fine lines. During the treatment additional heat is generated in dilated capillaries, which aids in diffusing skin redness and minor scars. As this laser gently heats the skin, this treatment has antibacterial properties that help to prevent further skin blemishes.
Your Consultation
At Adelaide Plastic Surgery we offer complimentary, no obligation consultations with our experienced laser nurses. During this consultation you will experience a full facial analysis, and a treatment plan will be tailored to your individual aesthetic needs. We often find that patients have various areas of concern, which in some cases are best treated with a combination of lasers in order to get you an optimal result. This is one of the benefits of coming to Adelaide Plastic Surgery – our extensive range of lasers allows us to tailor a laser to match your specific needs, rather than having a ‘one size fits all’ approach. We recommend that you allow 15-30 minutes for this consultation. Please keep this in mind when organising parking so that you don’t feel the need to rush. There is the possibility for your treatment to be done on the same day, depending on the availability of the laser.
How many treatments will I need?
Though you may notice improved skin benefits after an individual treatment, overall improvement in skin texture and appearance is best achieved after a series of treatments. We recommend six treatments for optimal results. After a consultation discussing your skin concerns, your laser nurse will tailor a treatment plan using one, or a combination of both lasers specific to your individual skin needs.
What can I expect after my treatment?
Each treatment takes only around 20 minutes, and requires little to no downtime. Redness may last for up to an hour and some patients may experience small pimples, which will resolve within a week. You can return to normal activities immediately post treatment, and we can apply a medical grade Mineral Makeup to cover any residual redness should you require.
What are the possible complications?
One of the many benefits of this laser wavelength is that it is safe to use on all skin types with minimal risks, including darker skin prone to hyperpigmentation and hypopigmentation.
